Open stitch sisals are a slightly softer variant of the standard sisals. Good choice of mop for cutting processes on more flat surfaces with heavy/medium cutting compounds such as 523LBZ, Carbrax, 439T, medium compounds such as P14 and green.

If you are polishing with standard sisals and finding that the mops are not breaking down and need raking very often then moving to an open stitch sisal will be an advantage.
